December Updates!

In a few days Jake will be celebrating his first Christmas! We are so excited and so is he. He has already tried to open a few of his gifts. Christmas morning will definitely be lots of fun with unwrapping gifts and playing with boxes. Don't worry we will take lots of pictures and video.

Jake had his 9 month appointment with his new doctor. He is now 20lbs 6oz and 29 3/4" long. He gained 2 1/2 pounds and grew an inch and a quarter!! We really like his new doctor and we love how small the practice is. Jake is healthy and growing perfectly!!

We found another tooth. We had no idea it was even there until the other day. I was holding him and he was laughing and sure enough his top tooth is almost through. Right now he is my little vampire with his 2 eye teeth coming through. Jeff got a great pic of him yesterday with his fangs. Jake is waving and clapping and crawling and pulling up on everything. He has started to try to climb but hasn't figure it out yet. Which is fine by us, lol. I know soon I will be at work and Jeff will send me a video of our boy walking. It probably won't be much longer. Jake is eating all kinds of new foods. Thankfully he is not a picky eater!

Jake has enjoyed his 1st snow storm. We got 21 inches of snow! We took him out for some photos and he kept checking everything out. Who knew we needed a snow suit. I didn't even bother looking at any because we don't get much snow. We were able to get out to the store yesterday to get a newspaper. Jake's picture was in there for baby's 1st Christmas. The roads are a horrible mess and still are. They haven't even plowed our road yet.

Last night Jake started closing his eyes when he saw the flash from the camera. It was the cutest thing and Jeff got some great video! Our little guy sure is growing up fast.

Jake's 1st Santa Visit!

Santa's Wonderland!

Jake was so sleepy this is how he fell asleep in his car seat on our way home!

On Sunday we headed to the Bass Pro Shop to take Jake to his first Santa's Wonderland. We got there at 1pm. Of course the store was packed! We made our way over to Santa and soon realized that the end of the line was on the other side of the store. It was insane!! So Jeff and Jake waited in line while I went to search for an elf. I finally made my way to the front of the line and asked about the bass pass. You are given a ticket for a certain time to come back to have your picture taken so you don't have to wait in line. She gave me a pass for 3pm. This was at 1:30. So I make it back to Jeff and Jake and then we had plenty of time to walk around the store. We went back at 2:45 to get in line and we were second in line with the bass pass....this was a separate line from all the people who didn't have a pass. That line still went to the other side of the store. I forgot to mention that at 1:30 I put our name down for a table at the restaurant because it was going to be a 2 hour wait. I knew the timing of all this was going to be very ify!! Sure enough we are waiting for Santa to get back from his little break and the restaurant timer starts to vibrate. You have got to be kidding me!!! So Jeff ran over to the restaurant to save our table. Thankfully, our friends Troy and Carol were meeting us at the restaurant and could hold the table for us. Long story short...the restaurant accidentally made our timer go off by mistake. So poor Jeff ran back over to us just in time to see Jake with Santa. I had let a nice family go in front of me while I was waiting for Jeff to get back. Finally, our sweet baby Jake got to sit on Santa's lap!

Jake did great with Santa. He just looked up at Santa and in one picture I wish I could have read Jake's mind. I have one shot with Jake's hand raised and looking at Santa. I would have loved to have known what he was thinking!

Jake was a trooper through it all!!! He just took everything in and not once did he cry. After his picture we were able to get our table. Jake ate like a champ and was so good at the restaurant!!

November 2009

Look real close you can see my top eye teeth!

1 of many silly faces!

My old man face!

My new truck!

Reading the newspaper with mommy!

A few more days and it will be December!! Once again where has the month gone? Jake has been busy this month, along with mommy and daddy! Jake is all over the place. He has mastered the army crawl and will occasionally crawl on his knees. He can pull up on everything and now he has mastered being able to sit down from a standing position. He loves to walk around the coffee table. His newest trick is to step up on daddy's leg so he can climb up onto the coffee table. It's only a matter of time before he figures out how to do it on his own. He also loves to push his walker and other toys around while he walks. He has also learned how to ride his truck all by himself. He knows he has to hold onto something before he can get off of it. So I am wondering how much longer we have before he starts walking?!
Jake has tried lots of new foods! He loves sweet potatoes/turkey, turkey/rice, yogurt, cheese, cheerios, vegetable beef, goldfish crackers, ritz crackers, mac-n-cheese and mum mums!! He ate like a champ for Thanksgiving and had turkey, stuffing, a roll and sweet potato pie with cool whip. He made sure to let me know I wasn't feeding him fast enough. He would jump up and down and say, mamamama while fussing! My silly boy is finally saying mama. He only seems to say it when he needs something. Should I get use to this? Jake is learning to drink from a straw and has a new fancy cup to help with that. He knows how to drink from his sippy cups but needs help with holding it up. He has two eye teeth coming in at the same time. So needless to say we have for sure had our fussy moments and restless nights sleep.
On Sunday nights Jake loves reading the newspaper with me. When I am done with a section I hand it over to him! He sits there for a long time balling it up and tearing it and tasting it. He will get mad if you don't let him have a section when your done! Jake's facial expressions are priceless. His newest one is sucking in his bottom lip and only seeing his top lip. He really does look like an old man. It's too funny! Oh and you better watch out if a Geico commercial comes on. The one's with the googly eyes on the wad of cash. He will stop whatever he is doing to watch it.
We started decorating for Christmas! I was decorating the tree while Jake was napping. As I was finishing up Jake sat up from his nap and looked over at the lights on the tree and he had the biggest smile! It was so sweet! Jeff put up lights outside and it was so fun to take Jake outside when we turned them all on! We got another big smile from our blue eyed boy!! Just wait until Christmas morning!!
Our sweet boy turned 9 months on the 27th! I am sure December will be full of surprises!!

Halloween 2009

Jake sure has been a fussy boy. Not really sure whats going on. He hasn't had his normal appetite so I assume he is trying to get another tooth. He has tried sweet potatoes with turkey and turkey with rice! He likes them of course. We have some YoBaby Yogurt to try next. He is pulling up on everything really well now. His only problem is that he doesn't know how to get down from a standing position. After he has had enough standing he will start to fuss so we have to go help him. If he does fall he cries for a minute and then keeps going. He is a tough boy!

On Friday Jake was so fussy! So I took my chances and took him to town. We went to the library and to Joann's to get some scrapbooking paper. Thankfully, Jake took a power nap on the way to town. After our shopping we met Aunt Stef, Uncle Chris and Trey and Trent at Chick fil a for Trick or Trunk. We ate dinner and then headed over to the Trick or Trunk. It was a really nice event that was safe and free. We watched Trey and Trent jump in the moon bounces and play the bean bag toss game. After the games we walked around and Trick or Trunk and collected lots of candy. Jake did a great job in his stroller watching everyone. Right when we were ready to leave the fire truck showed up. We took Jake over and let him sit in the fire truck. Uncle Chris put the headphones on Jake! It was his first time seeing the fire truck and it was neat that it was Tower 88 the fire truck Jeff use to drive.

Halloween night we met Aunt Stef, Uncle Chris, Trent, Trey and Jessica at the mall. We entered Jake into the costume contest. We arrived at the mall at 5pm and Jake sat in his Harley wagon with his leather coat, hat and sunglasses on. He kept everything on for about an hour as we trick or treated around the mall. Not once did he try to take his hat or glasses off. He loved all the attention and totally played the part of a cool biker dude. He was flirting and smiling at all the ladies. Finally, it was time for the contest and finally they called our number. I pulled the Harley wagon and Jake across the stage area and everyone loved him! They thought his Harley wagon with the Chrome exhaust and lights were the coolest ever. (Thanks Jeff for your creative ideas) Of course your costume made it even cooler! There were about 35 other kids in the contest and we waited patiently for them to announce the winner. They did 3rd place and 2nd place and then we heard FIRST PLACE IS HARLEY BIKER!!! WHERE IS JAKE!!! Woohoo our boy won! Proud mama and papa we were and are!! Jake won a tool set, a stuffed giraffe, candy, a gift card to Auntie Anne's and Red Robin.

On our ride home on Running Deer we passed a gator pulling a wagon full of kids! We had 20 some kids show up at the house. Thank goodness I bought some candy just in case. The bowl emptied fast and Jake had fun watching all the kids. This time next year Jake will join in all the trick or treating fun!!

Time Flies!

Jake is 8 months today!! Our sweet boy is growing way too fast. I know I say that all the time but its the truth. Just the other day we brought him home from the hospital!! I took some cute 8 month pictures of Jake in his camo outfit and his birthday suit!

The past few weeks Jake has become very mobile. He still army crawls everywhere. No crawling on his knees. I guess he figures he can get there faster on his belly, lol. Jake has also started pulling up on everything. At first it was just on dada but now its on everything. The couch, his toys and as of this week his crib and pack n play. Jeff got some great pics of Jake's discovery of standing up in his crib! Jake is saying "dada" all the time now. I have been working with Jake and trying to get him to say momma. No luck yet, oh well. His new food has been carrots. He loves them of course. We also have some stage 2 foods to start him on soon. He loves to eat and I know he is ready for some protein!

Jeff has worked hard on getting the basement-"man room" ready for Jake. It is baby proofed and full of Jake's toys. Jake loves using his walker in that room. There is also lots of room for him to crawl around. Jeff also built a shelf that now holds all of Jake's ride on toys. This boy is so lucky!! On nights I work the boys hang out in the "man room" and play.
We were able to meet up with Grandpa and Grandma Cash to eat at IHOP. It was great seeing them and they were amazed at how fast Jake is growing. Jake wore his new beret that night and got lots of compliments. He also sat in a Restaurant high chair for the first time. He did a great job eating his dinner.

Aunt Rhonda has been in town and we were able to visit with her again. This past Saturday we all went to Stef's house for a visit. Aunt Dana, Grandma, Jessica, Trent and Trevor were all there too. Jake loved the attention and had a fun time playing with his cousins. He even ate some pizza crust and got really mad when I took it away from him. It was starting to break off and I am so scared of him choking. Jake enjoyed it for a few minutes.

We are looking forward to Halloween and I will for sure post pics from that! We can't wait to dress him up!

Pumpkin Patch

Yay I am blogging and it hasn't been a month yet!! LOL! I think we finally have done most of the baby proofing around the house. Jake is into everything!! He tries hard to crawl but at the moment prefers to just pull himself around on his belly. Believe me it doesn't slow him down. He has also pulled himself up a few times. It won't be long before he realizes his own strength. We have a musical elmo play mat that we put out for Jake to play on. He had never been on the mat before and he knew that he had to move around in order for it to make music. He is so smart! How did he know to do that? We did get some video! Jake has a second tooth trying to make its way through. He has been fussy! His new foods have been prunes, ritz crackers and vanilla wafers! As usual he loves them all. Jake got his first flu shot dose on Friday. He screamed for a few seconds and that was is it. Our brave boy! On Monday we got to visit Grandma and Aunt Rhonda. We hope to see them again soon so we can get some pics! We had a nice visit and Jake gave them a glimpse of him trying to crawl and trying to pull himself up. He showed them what a great eater he is! Thank you grandma for sewing the emblem on my leather coat for Halloween!!

On Sunday we went to Carter's Mountain. I had no idea it would be so busy. I have never seen so much traffic and we had to park miles away from the orchard. Thank goodness they had a tractor wagon to shuttle us over to the orchard. Needless to say daddy was a little upset that he was missing the Dallas Cowboy game. We had no idea the pumpkin patch adventure would take so long. We still had a great time! Jeff took awesome pics and Jake loved being outside. We also were lucky enough to grab some hot apple donuts, mmmmm!

It's suppose to be in the 40's the rest of the week. BBRRRR.....the leaves are really changing fast so we hope to go up on skyline drive on Sunday! Hopefully there won't be any traffic, lol. I have lots of projects I am working on for Jake. I am trying to get caught up on his scrapbook and I got a few pages done this week. Its fun looking back on all the baby pictures. It brings back lots of memories from the early days! I also have material to make Jake a car seat poncho and his first Christmas stocking...aacckkk...I gotta get to work!!

Happy 7 Months

I can't wait to drive daddy!!

Such a big boy!!

Wow, look at that daddy!

Once again I have fallen behind in my blogging, aacckkk! Our boy was 7 months on September 27! He is growing like crazy!! We discovered a tooth on September 14th. He has been a fussy boy! We hope to get some pics soon. His new food has been banana, peaches and sweet potato puffs. We were surprised at how well he was able to gum them and knew exactly what to do. I think they have helped some with his teething. He is drinking water from his sippy cup and doing pretty good with that. Jake loves to eat! This past month we went to Trent's 3rd birthday party, the Harley Biker Show, Bass Pro Shop and to the Knife and Gun Show. Jake is such a good boy when we go out. He enjoys riding in his stroller checking everything out!

Jake is sitting up well on his own and he is trying so hard to crawl. He gets up on his knees but hasn't figured out how to move yet. That doesn't stop him because he can scoot all over the place on his belly. He also rolls where ever he needs to get! He has been doing a good job sleeping all night in his crib!! His new favorite toys are his talking laptop. He loves closing it more than pushing the buttons. He likes his Leap Frog fridge magnets too. He plays with those while he is in his walker in the kitchen. The biggest milestone is that a few times now Jake has said dada. It was so exciting to hear him say that. He is growing up so fast!

My first night I went to work I cried like a baby when I had to leave my sweet boy. It was hard but I knew daddy and Jake would be just fine. It has gotten a little easier to leave but I miss my guys. I have enjoyed meeting new co workers and being able to get out some on my own. The hard part is all the cute clothes and the great discount I get, lol. Daddy and Jake are doing awesome together and they surprise me by sending me pics and video while I am at work.

Fall is for sure here now. The temps are dropping and the leaves are starting to fall. We hope to get Jake to the Apple/Pumpkin Patch soon. We already decorated for Halloween and have Jake's costume picked out! Fun times a head and I hope to blog again soon!
